Your browser does the work. Your images aren’t uploaded to PicThin or any other server.

How do I turn a WebP into a JPG?

  1. Check that the form accepts JPG, then choose your WebP. Renaming the file won’t convert it.
  2. Start at the default 88% quality. To change the result, adjust the slider and choose “Convert to JPG”.
  3. Download the JPG and select that new copy on the form. If it’s still rejected, check the size and dimensions.

JPG can’t keep transparency or animation. Use this tool for still images, check the background, and compare file sizes—the JPG may be larger.

Questions?

What happens to transparent areas?

They become opaque because JPG doesn’t support transparency. Keep WebP or use PNG if you need a transparent background.

Why did the file get bigger?

WebP and JPG compress images differently. A JPG can be larger than the WebP it came from, depending on the image and quality setting.

What quality should I start with?

Try 85–90%, then lower it if the result is too large. Check text edges and gradients as you go.
