What can a photo reveal?
A photo can include when it was taken, the camera or phone used, its orientation, and sometimes GPS coordinates. Some apps strip those details when you share, but not all do.
How it works
Your browser reads the image’s pixels and writes a new JPG, PNG, or WebP. It keeps the picture and essential format data without copying the original EXIF, GPS, or camera metadata. Nothing is sent to a server.
Questions?
What gets removed?
The tool creates a new image without copying the original file’s metadata, such as its GPS location, date taken, camera model, and editing software.
Will my photo look different?
PNG is re-encoded losslessly. JPG and WebP are re-encoded once at high quality, so there may be slight changes. File size can go up or down. Keep the original.
Do you get a copy of my photo?
No. Reading, processing, previewing, and downloading all happen on your device.
Need a smaller file too?
Removing metadata doesn’t guarantee a smaller file. If you have an upload limit, try Compress to 100 KB, Compress to 200 KB or Set your own limit.
