Your image stays on your device. Choose WebP if you need transparency; JPG won’t keep it.

Photo too large for a form?

  1. Check the accepted formats, required dimensions, and file size limit. A photo under 200 KB can still have the wrong dimensions.
  2. Set the limit to 200 KB. Choose JPG if that’s what the form accepts, then select your original photo.
  3. Download the result and check faces, text, and dimensions. If the image is now below the required dimensions, start with a more suitable original.

If the form still says the file is too large, try 190 KB for a little extra room. This tool doesn’t crop photos, change backgrounds, or check the form’s other rules.

How do I get an image under 200 KB?

We try adjusting quality at the original dimensions first. If that’s not enough, we reduce the dimensions in steps. This gives the tool another way to reach your limit without dropping quality too far.

What can I use a 200 KB image for?

  • Photos and documents for forms
  • Images for articles and webpages
  • Email and chat attachments

200 KB gives you more room for detail than 20 or 50 KB. If the original already fits and is in the requested format, we keep it as it is. For a walkthrough, see How to get a JPG under a file size limit.

Questions?

How do I get an image under 200 KB?

Choose an image and we’ll adjust its quality. If it’s still over 200 KB, we’ll reduce the dimensions in steps until it fits or reaches the tool’s quality limit.

Will a 200 KB image look blurry?

It depends on the original and how much detail it contains. A tighter limit usually means losing more detail. If we can’t reach it at a reasonable quality, we’ll ask you to raise the limit.

Do you upload my images?

No. Your browser reads, processes, and previews the image on your device. Downloads are created there too.
